Meet Dr. Cassie
Hello! I am Cassie Wolfe, Ph.D., LCSW, CST serving clients in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, specializing in helping navigate through life’s trenches. Whether you’re here to talk about sexuality, anxiety, depression, life transitions, establishing healthy boundaries, processing grief, exploring identities, strengthening communication skills or improving the quality of your relationships, sessions with me are filled with compassion, collaboration, and humor.
I believe you can be happy, hurting, and healing simultaneously; and that healing truly happens when we feel seen and supported. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back, build on your strengths, and create strategies to help you move toward the life that feels most authentic, with of course, a few bumps and bruises along the way because let’s be real, no one gets through life totally unscathed!
About me: I graduated from Widener University’s dual degree MSW/PhD program, specializing in Human Sexuality. While I take an integrated approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices of CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused modalities, my philosophy is deeply rooted in psychodynamic theory where we explore not just the "what" but the "why" — the emotional and relational patterns that shape your current experience. My style is curious, direct, reflective, and balances the importance of listening and validation.
Fun facts:
I am a fierce LGBTQAI+ ally and advocate, sex-positive and kink aware therapist. Social justice lives at the core of who I am both personally and professionally.
I’m an Eagles fan - GO BIRDS! Proud Starter Jacket wearer in the 6th grade! Sorry NOT sorry!
I have a puggle named Bailey AKA “Pork Potato!”
I have over 15 years of experience working in various mental health settings (i.e. acute inpatient, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient/outpatient, inpatient drug and alcohol, outpatient methadone maintenance, and children’s crisis). I have also guest lectured in college settings and facilitate trainings to healthcare providers on topics such as trauma informed care, cultural competency and humility, treatment with sexual minorities, ethics, substance use, suicide prevention, and de-escalation.
I’ve jumped out of a perfectly fine plane…twice!
At 16, I wanted to be the next Dr. Ruth! She inspired me to pursue a career that combined my passion for helping people with my curiosity about sexuality. This led me to becoming a teen editorial board member for Sex, Etc., a national magazine and Web site written by teens, for teens, on various sexual health topics.
My favorite comfort food is chicken parm.
I’ve been in therapy and believe everyone should have that experience at least once! No shame in healing and wanting to be a better version of yourself! Also, having someone in your life who is just “Team You,” is pretty sweet.
I have an 80/20 mantra about life. If you’re at least 80% happy with your job, your relationship/s/, life, etc. you’re doing pretty damn good!
Talk meme to me! I think memes are the next evidence-based tools.
